AI Assistants

AI Assistants are the core of Talksy. Each assistant is a configurable AI agent that handles customer conversations on your behalf across any connected channel.

Creating an Assistant

From the Assistants page, click Create Assistant. You'll configure:

  • Name — A friendly name for internal reference (e.g. "Sales Bot", "Support Agent").
  • System Prompt — Instructions that define your assistant's personality, tone, and behavior. Be specific: "You are a friendly customer support agent for an e-commerce store. Always greet the customer by name."
  • Welcome Message — The first message your assistant sends when a new conversation starts.
  • Model — The AI model powering the assistant. Talksy uses advanced generative AI for fast, context-aware responses.
  • Temperature — Controls response creativity. Lower values (0.1–0.3) give precise, consistent answers. Higher values (0.7–1.0) allow more varied, creative responses.

Editing and Managing Assistants

Click on any assistant to view or edit its configuration. Changes take effect immediately for new conversations. Active conversations will continue with the previous configuration until the customer starts a new session.

Tip: Start with a clear, detailed system prompt. The more specific your instructions, the better your assistant will perform. Include examples of ideal responses and specify how to handle edge cases.

Assigning Assistants to Channels

Each channel is linked to one assistant. To change which assistant handles a channel, go to Channels, select the channel, and choose a different assistant from the dropdown. One assistant can serve multiple channels simultaneously.

System Prompt Best Practices

  • Be specific about personality — Define tone (formal, casual, friendly), language style, and response length.
  • Set boundaries — Tell the AI what it should and should not discuss. For example: "Never discuss competitor products" or "Always redirect billing questions to the support team."
  • Provide examples — Include sample conversations showing ideal responses.
  • Say how to reach a person — Talksy does not transfer conversations, so tell the AI what to give out when a human is needed: "If the customer mentions legal action, give them our office email and say the team will reply within one business day."
